Educational Programmes

‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.’
Nelson Mandela

The Nelson Mandela Museum Programmes Department engages in various educational and cultural activities aimed at sharing the resources linked to Nelson Mandela. Some of the key result areas of the department are education, collections, protection and preservation of material that reflects the legacy of Nelson Mandela and his contemporaries.

The legacy of Nelson Mandela is preserved and shared through education programmes such as youth camps and the leadership institute; exhibitions – both permanent and temporary; outreach in the form of travelling exhibitions and theatre; research through partnerships with other; and by facilitating seminars and conferences and the conservation of gifts and sites which form the major part of the Museum collection.
