1. FINANCIAL SPECIALIST
Salary package: Market related
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Matric Certificate
B Tech or Bachelor Degree in Financial Accounting or Equivalent
Two (2) years experience in accounting environment or relevant
Valid driver’s license will be advantageous
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Knowledge of Pastel Accounting system, D-Bit Asset system, and other relevant Accounting software.
General knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and Accounting Statements (GRAP).
Records Maintenance Skills, Database Management, Accounting Skills, Communication and Problem Solving Skills.
Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality.
Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities and Skills in the use of personal computers and related software applications including MS Word, MS Excel , MS Access and MS Project.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Ensure that service providers to the Museum are paid on time within 30 days of the receipt of invoices.
- Allocation and posting of all creditors payments in Pastel Accounting System.
- Execute usual accounting functions, which include operating the general ledger system to trial balance.
- Prepare Journal entries and month end reconciliations in line with internal deadline.
- General ledger maintenance and reconciliation.
- Financial reconciliations (creditors and bank reconciliation).
- Debtor and creditor management.
- Assist with the collection of debtors and resolve any escalated debtor’s problems.
- Prepare departmental budget proposals, assist with review and refine departmental spending estimates.
- Assist in monitoring of budget implementation progress and identify all variances against the budget.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly Budget versus Actual expenditure analysis reports as required.
- Use Pastel Partner/Evolution to capture accounting transactions, control general ledger, perform financial administration and prepare financial reports.
- Check and verify that payments are approved by a properly delegated person(s).
- Ensure proper filing and archiving of payment vouchers and other financial information.
- Ensure that payment vouchers are complete and payments are approved by authorized person.
- Management of petty cash.
2. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Salary package: Market related
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Matric Certificate.
- A qualification at NQF level 6 in Information and Communication Technology / Computer Science/ Information Technology.
- At least 2-3 years’ relevant experience of which 2 years must in System Administration, Network Security, Problem Solving, Information Security Policies, Process Improvement, Network Troubleshooting, Firewall Administration, Network Protocols, Routers, Hubs, and Switches.
- Experience in Government Systems will be an added advantage.
- A valid driver’s license will be advantageous.
- Good interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills.
DUTIES:
- Protects system by defining access privileges, control structures, and resources.
- Recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities, reporting violations.
- Provision of end-user support with regards to hardware, software and network connectivity.
- Ensure that all IT policies, norms and standards are enforced.
- Perform quality control for the Local Area Network (LAN).
- Perform installations, maintenance and upgrading of computer hardware and second-line fault-finding identification.
- Install and upgrade software applications not performed by resources from the outsourced partner.
- Installation, configuration and support of network equipment, computer and computer applications.
- Repair of computer equipment such as printers, Personal Computers, and servers.
- Provide and maintain internet and e-mail client services.
- Ensure that antivirus software signature and operating systems patches are up-to date.
- Initiate and co-ordinate the change control procedures.
- Perform routine back-up for all the available servers and systems.
- Compile monthly performance reports relating to information security and technology to the NMM.
3. LIBRARIAN
Salary package: Market related
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A minimum appropriate three (3) year tertiary qualification, majoring in Library and Information Science, coupled with a minimum of two (2) years library experience.
- Sound knowledge of Public Library administrative procedures and services.
- Good office administration, planning and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Computer Literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
- Valid code driver’s license.
DUTIES:
- Control and co-ordinate circulation of library material.
- Provide user education training to the public.
- Maintain and develop library collection.
- Coordinate and perform library administration duties.
- Select material to build library collections.
- Maintain stock and library environment.
- Conduct Library promotion programme within the community.
- Monitor and evaluate usage of the library.
4. SENIOR MANAGER-PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT
Remuneration package: Market related
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
An appropriate Post-Graduate Degree/National Diploma in Communication/ Journalism/ Tourism/ Marketing/ Development Studies, with strong management skills.
Experience:
Three (3) years’ experience at a middle managerial level with proven, strong understanding of the communication landscape in South Africa.
Experience in running communication campaigns and programmes.
Proven experience in the management of a multi-disciplinary communications team.
Job Knowledge:
- Knowledge and understanding of the South African Museum and Heritage landscape and Government’s programme of action.
- Media and stakeholder relationship management and liaison abilities.
- Content management and analysis.
- Understanding of the communication landscape and interest in media and communication trends including research.
Competencies required:
- Provide strategic capability and leadership within the content of mentoring and financial management.
- Programme and Project Management.
- Understanding of urgent or rapid issue management functions.
- People management and empowerment.
- Ability to communicate with other stakeholders.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Good stakeholder relations with an understanding and appreciation of needs of print and broadcast media.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Lead a Communication team which sets and influences the media agenda through a robust, proactive and efficient rapid response system.
- Manage internal and external communication of the museum.
- Develop and manage a communication strategy of the museum.
- Manage communication content (online and publications).
- Manage social media strategy.
- Develop and manage marketing and advertising strategy.
- Develop a communication policy of the museum.
- Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with the media to promote platforms for communicating policies, programmes and plans.
- Manage community development initiatives and public scholarly initiatives, organizing events.
