Nelson Mandela Museum brings hope to disabled children in Mthatha

Nelson Mandela Museum in partnership with the provincial department of Sport Recreation Arts and Culture will commemorate the life and times of Nelson Mandela and Reconciliation day through programming aimed at defusing criminal elements taking place in our communities.

On the 03rd of December, Nelson Mandela Museum and its partners will visit Happy Homes Disabled Children’s Center in Southernwood, Mthatha for Christmas lunch and donate Christmas gifts to the children.

On the 04th of December, the museum will host a social dialogue under the theme “Remembering the past and marching forward, planting the seed of Ubuntu in a manner that prevents acts of criminality from taking place again”.

On the 05th of December, the museum and Department of Sport Recreation Arts and Culture will kick start the program of the day with a peace walk from Rotary stadium in Ngangelizwe Location via King Sabata Dalindyebo Municipal offices to Nelson Mandela Museum where the official program of the day will be held.

The annual commemoration of Nelson Mandela is declared as a provincial event of the Eastern Cape government celebrated at the Nelson Mandela Museum.
