The Nelson Mandela Museum and ABSA Bank will host the 2022 Women’s Celebration on the 09th of September 2022 at the Nelson Mandela Museum from 18h00 until 20h00 under the theme “Hear Our Voices”. The theme is influenced by a scourge of physical violence and emotional abuse that is perpetrated against women in society in various forms.

The celebration in a form of a dialogue will provide an opportunity to speakers to raise their voices on the lack of training and economic development opportunities and to existing training and economic opportunities that seek to propel women to undergo degrading path before they can tap to those opportunities.

It will further allow women to express their experiences on physical or emotional abuse suffered under their spouses, families, relatives and children. Women’s voices are silenced through such abuse that break their spirit leading to complex feelings and trauma. The platform will give time to women to speak out with the intention to share their pain and suffering.

The dialogue will be made up of speakers from different backgrounds. It will be led by Ms Babalwa Mbuku, the Founder and CEO of Ntombam Sanitary Towels, the key note address will be Ms Lusanda Mbane an actress in various roles and a social activist and featuring the psychological element will be Ms Ziyanda Mavumengwane, a writer and a psychologist.
